What?
The Buenos Aires, Argentina, Marathon and Half Marathon is an ideal way for runners to tour the city and enjoy the Southern Hemisphere’s Spring season in one of Latin America’s most vibrant and cosmopolitan cities.

Where?
The race begins and ends in Buenos Aires' grand central park, called Parque Tres de Febrero, and the course runs through many of the city's main neighborhoods such as Palermo and Recoleta. The 42K runners go through the colorful La Boca and upscale Puerto Madero districts, while the half-marathon 21K runners spit off and return via one of the city's highways.

When?
October 10, 2010

Why?
The Buenos Aires marathon is well organized and entertaining, full of the sights and sounds of one of Latin America's most exciting and eclectic cities. Bold and brassy storefronts, alluring street vendors, throngs of spectators and even several tango dancers support and inspire the marathoners along the course. With approximately 3700 runners in the 42K runners and 3800 in the 21K, the field is big but not too crowded. The flat course makes for fast times.

How (much)?
$50 US pre-registration. Accommodation costs and options vary widely. When considering a lodging location, consider looking in the Palermo neighborhood to be close to the start/finish area. Recoleta, around 7K from the starting line, also is a good bet since it's one of the city's most attractive (but more expensive) areas to stay.
